Spring is in the Air

It's been so beautiful outside.
I caught Pepper enjoying a nap.

I also caught this chick sleeping on top of the feeder.

It's been nice enough to take the chicks outside.

We had some adventures in the woods.

Connor is still enjoying his new camera.

Connor decided to venture out into the mud.
Like a good mom, I was too busy snapping photos
to pay attention to what he was doing.

This was the moment when he realized just how stuck he was.

It took a while, but we managed to get him free.

We've enjoyed walks along the ditch.
I love the cow path.

We've enjoyed the frogs serenading for their mates.
If you look closely at the center you can see one with his throat puffed out.

They were so loud it made our ears rattle.

Nolan found this nest in the barn lot.

It's a robin's nest.

Four beautiful eggs.

In case there was a need for more duckling pictures, here's several.

We had them outside for a little while.
They figured out how to escape through the fence.
They made such a chatter when we brought them back inside.
They missed their new chick friends.

We are enjoying the ducklings so much!

Blooming

Like most everywhere, our yard is full of blooms.

The crab apple tree.

Last year I decided to plant a new crop of tulip bulbs.
I think I planted 12 - 18 bulbs.
Only one came up.
So disappointed.

I took several pictures of the one that actually showed up.

I almost waited too long for these pictures.
The petals had already started to curl.
Today, it's completely blown to shreds.

Pepper had to help of course.

Apple blossoms.

Red bud blossoms.
Connor calls it the red buddy tree.

Several dandelions were picked for me this weekend.
We've never seen one that had two blooms on one stem before.

Duck!

Hey, you're not a chicken!

We decided to get two ducks today.

I've never had a duck before.
Dwayne's grandma had them around occasionally.
Dwayne has fond memories of them from when he was a kid.
We thought they would be fun to have around.

They are Indian Runner ducks.
They run around upright like a penguin.
It's quite funny to watch them.

They're so cute.
They've been swimming in their little pond and shaking their tail feathers.

We named them Daisy and Petunia.
Their names may change as we have no idea if they are boys, or girls, or one of each!
