Patio

Well.. we finally got our concrete pad outside of our walkout basement. It only took us six years to do it. This is only the first part of the plans we have for the walkout basement.

Early in the morning on Friday, October 27th, the concrete guys started their work. The boys were glued to the window the entire time.. they really wanted to go out and help.

Rosie was just as curious as the boys were.

This guy is tamping down the sand... Nolan said he was mowing the dirt.

I took Nolan out when Connor was taking a nap. He just had to get close to the bobcat.

The boys had to wait through the weekend before they could see the concrete truck.. boy were they excited when it arrived.

Looking at the west side of the concrete pad.

You can see Connor watching them run the screeder.. the thing that smooths the concrete.

The last of the concrete going in the southeast corner of the pad.

Nolan helped me put their shoeprints in the concrete.. he did a great job writing his name.

The finished product... now all we have to do is the retaining wall, the roof, and the siding.

Gilmore's Green Acres

Nolan's preschool class went on a field trip to Gilmore's Green Acres today. It was a little chilly but everyone had a great time.
The kids watched Stephanie bottle feed this one month old calf.

Nolan is in the red hat waiting for the calf to come back.

Connor wasn't afraid of the animals.. he reached right in and started laughing.

Nolan and Connor staying for a picture.. it may have been cold but the sun was sure bright!

Nolan feeding one of the pygmy goats. This particular goat was very friendly.. but he also turned out to be the ornery one.

The kids got a lesson on the hatching of chickens and then got to hold them.

Here is Nolan coming out of one of the cool slides.

Nolan and our neighbor Wyatt on the hay ride. We rode to the pumpkin patch where everyone got to pick their own pumpkin.
