Snow Fort

It's been a while since I have made a post.
Winter decided to show up when the calendar was turned to January.
It has been frigid part of the time along with varying amounts of snowfall.
We've had some beautiful sunrises.

We've had some spectacular sunsets.

This was taken on the coldest day.
The windchill was brutal... something like -20 or more.
As you can see, this didn't effect our dog one bit.
Pepper is lying there sunning herself.
She kept coming to the porch and barking for us to come out and play.
She would bring her toys to the porch and play for a while.
Then she would return to her sunning spot when she realized we weren't coming out.

We've also had some freezing fog.
When it lifted everything looked like it was frosted,
including the dog.

She's staring into the house waiting for someone to come out and play.

This is the aren't-I-cute-come-out-and-play-with-me look.
I love how even her whiskers got frosted.

Today we had perfect snow fort building temperatures.
It's been several years since we had walls this big.

For some reason the boys wanted a window.

It's more like two walls than a fort.
Someday we would like to build an igloo.

Pepper was so helpful.
And by help, I mean jumping part of the wall and knocking it down.
And she may have had a brick or two to snack on... just like Rosie did.

I mistakenly laid my gloves down on the snow wall.

View from inside the house looking down into the lower front yard.
Maybe we'll finish some more of it tomorrow.
