The Tent

We bought a tent.
A really big tent!
We decided it was time to start tent camping.
We're trying out the back yard first.

This and That

Nolan with his camera.

Rocks in the ditch.

Family shadows.

Walking down the road.  ..well the kids decided to be in the small ditch.

"Happy early Mother's Day mom."

Frog spot.

More Chick Pixs

They're so cute when they're sleeping.

All sprawled out.

This is one of the Araucana chickens.
We're learning that they like to jump... a lot.
Maybe that's where the term "popcorn" chicken comes from.
I hope this doesn't continue when they get older.
They may not last long around here... one jump to the wrong fenced area and GULP!
They're also not quite as friendly as the other chickens.  Ornery but cute.

The Chicken Wisperer

This is Dumpling.

This is Dumpling in the arms of Connor.

This is Dumpling in the arms of Connor, getting her picture taken.

This is Dumpling getting a "hug".

Reflection Fun

The boys were making faces in a lid that was in the dish drainer.
They do this quite often but this time
I had to grab the camera and join the fun.

This is what happens when you try to cross your eyes and
take a picture in a reflection at the same time.
There were lots of laughs after this one.

Killdeer

We've found a killdeer nest at the edge of our rocks.
We put a crate over it to try to keep the dogs out.
I'm hoping to get frequent pictures after they hatch.
If you've never seen a baby killdeer, it's quite the sight.

Cuteness

I forgot how fun and cute chicks can be.
They will fall asleep in any position.
If they fall asleep standing, they will slowly collapse to the floor.

No, you are not seeing things.  We got two more chicks today.
These two are Araucana chickens.  They lay a blue colored egg.
The dark one is Brownie and the lighter one is Nimrod (she's a little ornery).

Oh Look!

Look what dad brought home!

The boys have been asking for some Isa Brown chickens.
The darker one is named Rusty and the lighter one is Sunny.

Anyone need eggs?
