Zoo

We try to get to the Potawatomi Zoo every summer.

Despite the fact that we know people with goats,
the kids 'had' to pet these.

Our trip is never complete without the train ride...
and rain.  The last two times we've gone to the
zoo it has rained.  This time it poured!
We enjoyed the nice shower and headed for the train.

A new otter exhibit was added last year.

So much fun watching these guys.

Nolan and Connor can be seen on the other side
taking pictures of the bobcat (who was watching
a bird on the outside of his living quarters.

Family

We visited with some of my cousins... one of which
I hadn't seen in decades!

The next generation of young-in's.
Aren't they a handsome bunch?

The grown ups.

The younger gals.

Fun fun fun

The baptism was at Caboose Lake and
afterwards it was time for some super fun.
They have lots of activities for everyone to enjoy.

This is called the Hippo Slide.

Nolan,

Connor,

and yes, Daddy all went down the giant slide.

Connor taking part in the "ice skating".

It's Only Fair

This is Connor enjoying his first cotton candy at a fair.
He's had cotton candy before but not from the fair.
The gracious vendor let us read the ingredients.
How awesome is that!

Too Hot!

The understatement of the summer is that IT'S HOT!
One of the days that our analogue thermometer
pegged out way past 100, the boys got
the water balloons out.

They would go out long enough to fill
water balloons.

Have a water balloon fight.

And go back inside.

Double Digits

Nolan turned 10 this year.
Where did the time go?

I'm not quite sure what was going on in this picture
but Grandpa Schultz has Nolan's gifts.
Perhaps he was guarding them... he does have 3
swords beside him.
