God's Beauty and Power

Well the first half of this week has been quite interesting. One confirmed tornado on the north end of town and two more unconfirmed tornadoes on top of that! One of them was only a mile and a half from our house. That's way too close! These are pictures from Sunday's storm that brought the tornado to Rensselaer. As you can see the sky was quite active! We watched from our walk-out basement door.

Re-blooming lilac blooms about to open.

Mother's Day flower from church.

Hens and chicks.

Three Dogs

Finally got better pictures of all three of our dogs.

Our much loved 11 year old dog, Rosie. Queen of the back porch. She's not spoiled in the least!

Our escape artist, 3 year old Baby.

Our 1 year old cutie, Casey. She runs faster than lightning! How could you not love that face?

Snake!

It's so much fun living in the country. You just never know what you're going to find in your yard... a calf (or all the cows), owl, nest of mice the dog found & brought for show, etc. On this particular day it was a spreading viper snake. Mom isn't afraid of snakes and went for the camera :)

No we're not stepping on it. Just trying to show the size of the snake.

It took a while but the snake finally got the hint that it should leave the yard.

More Chicken Pictures

I wish I could have pictures of our chicken coop.. but between bad weather and dying power tools it doesn't exist yet. We do have a temporary fenced in area in the back yard for the chickens to hang out in. These are just a few pictures from the past few weeks.

This curious chicken is trying to see the mini-remote control cars the boys were playing with.

Spring Day

Casey.. white washed in the sunshine... before her muck 'bath' in the ditch. She's not so white now.

We have had apple trees for several years but never any apples... maybe this is the year!
