This and That

Nest of robins. Their eyes are still closed.

Same nest four days later. It's a little crowded. I bet they're glad the other egg didn't hatch! We checked it a couple of days later and one baby flew out. The next day they were gone.

Not sure what kind of eggs Nolan found.

Even possums can be cute when they're babies.

Puddle Turtle

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Sorry for that. We've been having fun just hanging out. These are more pictures of what we find in the back yard or on the farm. Never a dull moment. Over the last few weeks we have seen baby possums, baby birds, turkey vultures, turtles, and bats... most in our back yard! We don't have pictures of the bats but we have fewer mosquitoes!

Connor found this painted turtle in a puddle in the barn lot behind our house.

They desperately wanted to see his head come out... so we waited.

... and waited. "Mom, when will he come out?"

Nolan trying to wait patiently.

Connor not waiting patiently...

... but clearly having fun.

Mom, however, waited patiently and got this picture the moment both boys left. Apparently turtles have incredible patience!

Not wanting our dear little friend to get crushed by farming equipment in the barn lot, we took him to the ditch and let him go.

Going...

Going...

Gone!
