Art Lesson

Connor had an art lesson on form.
So we made these interesting creatures.

Connor was on the phone with Grandma Libby
and telling her exactly how long his dog was.
(Fourteen inches, in case you were wondering.)

The animal collection the boys made.

Of Snow Angels and Blanket Tents

Cold outside...

"Cool" inside

The small blanket tent.

A day off of school turns into a blanket tent fest.
I'm glad they haven't asked for the real tent.
This way is much more fun.

Now It's Done

Yes, it's true.
The deck is finally done...
and it has snowed off and on ever since!
Now if it will just warm up enough for us to use it.

Fudge

Yes, this is Connor eating fudge.
At the age of 6 1/2 he had his first piece of fudge this past week.
He is still allergic to dairy and all the other foods.
This fudge is made with beans.  That's right.  Beans. (Great Northern, to be exact.)
The mere thought of beans and chocolate being together is repulsive at best.
I'm a chocoholic.  I mean chocolate is a food group right?
So chocolate and beans should NOT mix.  Ever.
So with a giant amount of skepticism, I made only half a batch.
Then I ate some... and although my brain new what I was eating my taste buds shouted FUDGE!
It's really good.  Really, really good.

This is a picture of the second batch I've made.
Did I mention that it's good?

A Walk With Grandma

Nolan climbed on top of one of Grandpa's hog feeders.

Connor at the top of the sand hill.
Ordinarily this time of year it's the sledding hill.
The kids are somewhat disappointed that we haven't had any real snow.
I reassured them that we almost always get one big storm a year... it's coming.
Just wait.

One of the views from the sand hill.
