Homeward Bound

Almost home boys... they traveled very well.
Nolan in the back seat doodling to his heart's content.

Another family self-portrait. We always try to stop in Madison, Indiana and take pictures at the fountain. This time we also strolled down the historic downtown and had the best milkshake we've ever had!

Cumberland Falls

On the way back to Indiana we stopped at the Cumberland Falls in Corbin, Ky.

We told Connor to hug mommy so we could get a picture. He was scared to death to get near the wall to sit with mom. I don't blame him... it's a straight drop behind the wall. Those are tree tops behind us.

Erwin, Tennessee

We finally made it to Tennessee on Sunday, June 17th. We spent the week relaxing and visiting with relatives. Special thanks to Uncle Earl and Aunt Kathy for letting us invade their home for the week.
Aunt Kathy's special edition scrabble board... gold plated. The bag with all the letters in it was quite heavy! We played several games while we were there.Ed McCurry's store. The boys passed out from a hard day of visiting family. We had to go to Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park to find some of our relatives who were camping. One morning we headed to the fish hatchery. Dwayne and I have been going to this place every Erwin visit for years and this was the first time we got to feed the fish. You can see the man in the background carrying two cups of fish food for the boys. They even refilled the cups when they got low. The boys had a blast feeding the fish. Connor would laugh every time a big fish would splash when it came for the food.

Uncle Gary's cabin.

Clinch Mountain

Every year on our way to Tennessee we stop at the Clinch Mountain lookout and take pictures... and let the kids release some energy!

Daddy and the boys... Nolan is talking to Grandma & Grandpa Schultz of course.

Connor's turn.

Creation Museum

On our way to Tennesse we stopped at the brand new Creation Museum in Kentucky. It had only been open for about 3 weeks when we made our visit... and it was packed!

The pterodactyl over the entrance to the bookstore. He moved and made lots of noise... much to the dismay of Nolan who covered his ears every time we went past.

Dwayne & Nolan in front of a velociraptor.

Outside the museum there was a really cool park. There were dinosaurs, waterfalls, and several cool bridges, including one suspension bridge. My favorite bridge was the one with the mist spraying from the sides... it was in the lower 90's and it felt great.

The boys on the suspension bridge. This bridge was so popular we had to wait in line each time we went across.
