Vacation Part 2 - Sauder Campground

Our first camping spot was at the Sauder Village Campground.
After we visited the village, we set up camp.
All the camp sites were along the pond.
It was very pretty and had lots of ducks.

This was our very first camping trip... the back yard doesn't count.

We decided to let the boys use the manual air pump to fill our air mattress.
We were hoping to let them burn off some energy.
They gave up after a while... so we used the electric pump.

The beautiful view.
See the ducks?... They quacked half the night!
We learned that mallards can be nocturnal.
There were also trains that went through almost every 7 - 10 minutes blowing their horns!
Needless to say we didn't sleep well the first night!

It was also very chilly the first night.  The low was around 45!
We started a new tradition... we have hot chocolate in the morning!

It rained the second evening... for about 4 hours... which wasn't really a big deal.
One of the perks of staying at the Sauder campground was we could have access to the Inn's indoor
pool, hot tub and game room.  We had so much fun swimming and playing games.

We slept much better the second night.
The ducks took the night off and we didn't hear many trains.
The sound of the rain hitting the tent was very soothing...
and thankfully we only had one spot that dripped.
