We're back from our week long visit to the south.
We stayed with family in Erwin, Tennessee.
There are several signs to indicate that you are in the south.
Here are my top ten.
10. Black wooden fences.
9. Increase in quilts on barns and businesses.
8. Two kind of radio stations to choose from: county & southern gospel.
7. Tobacco fields.
(Sorry for the crummy picture, it was the only one I took.)
6. Tobacco barns.
The hanging tobacco reminds me of large bats.
5. Baptist churches at every hill, creek, and holler.
4. Logging trucks.
3. Flea markets.
2. The accent.
1. This awesome highway sign.
We saw this at least three or four times while we were in Tennessee.
Only in the south.
These cutout picture things have been at this particular
location for as long as I can remember.
The store is called Dog Patch Trading Post.
It's in London, Kentucky.
It's one of our regular stops on the way to Tennessee.
We're always excited when we can finally see the Appalachian Mountains.
