Vacation: Gatlinburg and More

We had so many adventures while on vacation it's hard to make posts!
This is more or less a combination of a couple of days.

I think this was in Pigeon Forge.
We were scouting a place for the boys to drive go-carts.

These were neat bottle toppers in an ice cream shop.
I think it was Gatlinburg.

Smoky Mountain Knife Works, Seiverville
You know it's going to be a cool store when there's a giant wooden knife on the door.

This place was really cool.
It's kind of like Cabela's on steroids.
There is a sword in the stone... with a waterfall.
The water and scenery ran throughout the store.
They have every kind of knife imaginable and then some.
Three stories of camping and hunting gear.
I'm not sure how long we were here but it seemed like we could have spent
the whole day and still would not have seen everything.

We found an arcade and go-cart place that suited our needs.
A little driving time for Connor and Dan
Nolan was having car sickness issues and wasn't up for go-carts.

I'm pretty sure Dan lapped Connor.
That's why Connor is "ahead".

Connor says one of these days he's going to beat Dan.
Keep trying!

Four player air hockey...
fun chaos.

Giant Pac Man.
I did terrible... and on a large screen so everyone could see!

The boys ended up finding a fighting game with superheroes.
As they played it spit out baseball cards with the heroes on them.
They had stats and things you add to your player. (I think that's how it worked).
Either way they enjoyed it.

I can't tell you how much we love Tennessee.
There's always an adventure somewhere.
One evening we went back to Gatlinburg and walked downtown.
Our friends know where the free parking places are.
On our walk from where we parked, we could see this man fly fishing.
That's what we love about Gatlinburg. You never know what you will see.

It's been a year and a half since their fire.
This attraction is still in the process of rebuilding.
You can no longer smell the smoke like we did last fall.

It was a beautiful evening for walking.
We enjoyed the sights, sounds, and smells.
All those candy shops smelled so sweet!

A small Herbie!

I can't remember the exact name of this place but it's really neat.
They have bands that play bluegrass in this open area below.
There are rocking chairs for people to sit in and enjoy the music.

Typically the chairs would be in the center.
On this particular day they were moved to the sides because it had rained earlier.

Not the greatest picture but you can see the band playing.
It was a great evening.
